Technical Training Course on Land Readjustment (April 25th - April 27th 2011)

To enhance capacities on institutional building, project implementation and management, a three-day technical training course for land readjustment was held from April 25th to April 27th 2011. The training aimed at obtaining the following techniques from lectures and exercises:

  1. to understand project mechanisms on land readjustment;
  2. to obtain basic techniques to prepare a land readjustment plan; and
  3. to understand elements and techniques to realize land readjustment project.

There were fifteen (15) participants from counterpart agencies (three from Ministry of Road, Transport, Construction and Urban Development [MRTCUD], two from Administration of Land Affairs, Construction, Geodesy and Cartography [ALACGaC], two from Construction, Urban Development and Planning Department and three from Land Department of Ulaanbaatar city and some project staffs.

As the course started with the explanation on the mechanics of land readjustment and planning method, the participants learned to draw a land use planning map and practiced project planning by using a model area. During the last day of the course, the participants gave presentations about their project plans and had discussions on them. They actively participated in this three-day intensive course, and deepened their understanding on land readjustment.

This training course had meaningful and will definitely help conduct further activities smoothly. The participants from the ministry and Ulaanbaatar city are expected to be important members when the project scheme for land readjustment is set up. Because this training was intended to be "Training of Trainers (TOT)," they are expected to be supervisors of land readjustment in their respective institutions. Additionally through this technical training course, Japanese experts clearly understood that there were gaps in the way of thinking and awareness toward project implementation with the counterparts' members.
