Workshops for Teachers at 4 Special Schools

JICA Project Team has conducted workshops fortnightly at Special Schools No. 25, 55, 63, and 70 in Ulaanbaatar.

The first workshops were conducted from November 30th to December 16th. The topic was "How to develop an Individual Education Plan". Participants learned about Individualized Education Support Plan and Individualized Teaching Plan in Japan, and after these lectures they filled in the drafted Individual Education Plan on their own. They tried to find out effective teaching methods for a student with disabilities based on her/his actual condition and their parents and teachers' expectation. Some participants said, "I can keep an eye out for a child's growth and development by making this plan" and "It's a little bit difficult for me to think about effective teaching methods but I realized it is very important".

The second workshops were conducted from December 17th to 22nd. After the expert of the JICA Project gave feedback to the Individual Education Plan which the participants drafted in the first workshop, four teachers who took part in the training in Japan conducted in November to December 2015, made presentations. These teachers introduced education for students with disabilities in Japan; they said that they would like to try some activities involving children in different age groups, with different disabilities and students from regular schools in Mongolia.

Project Team will continue to conduct workshops according to teachers' needs.
