Special Schools Start to Give Advice to Regular schools

Four special schools for children with intellectual disability began giving advice to eight regular schools (two regular schools per special school), which were selected as pilot schools. The purpose of this activity was improving the education for children with disabilities at regular schools.

A working team was organized at each school. From December 7th to 14th, both working teams of special school and regular school held a meeting to identify what kind of support the regular schools need. Regular school teachers asked many questions such as "What are the features of certain disabilities?" and "How should I teach students with special needs?" After the discussion, they developed a schedule of joint activities between the special school and regular school.

On December 10th, five teachers of Special School No.55 implemented educational assessments for students at School No.79. They also conducted a lecture for teachers at School No.111 about basic understanding of disability on December 23rd. One participant said, "I would like to gain basic knowledge and provide effective education for my students who need special support".

They will continue this activity once a month, and the Project Team will support those special schools and regular schools.
