Sharing Seminar for shareholders & teachers to review project activities for the past two years

The project held Sharing Seminar in May 2017 for shareholders to review activities for the first half of project (almost two years). The Seminar for all project activities was held in Ulaanbaatar and Khuvsgul Aimag (pilot Aimag), and for teachers for the 6 center districts in Ulaanbaatar.

More than 90 participants joined the seminar in Ulaanbaatar. Presentations were made related to activities of structuring developmental support system, workshops at pilot schools, outcomes of mini project, etc. Participants showed high interest in the project by asking questions about activity plan for next two years as well as requesting support and coordination.

Nearly 90 participants joined the seminar in Khuvsgul Aimag. Presentations were made related to baseline survey result, activity report from sub-commission, workshops at pilot schools, etc. The Governor's opening remarks encouraged stakeholders need to work together to improve early interventions for disabilities and abilities of supporters for children with disabilities. He requested full cooperation for the project.

The seminars for school teachers were held at four districts where the project's four pilot special schools are located. The project collaborated with officers in charge of Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports (MECSS), Ulaanbaatar Education Department, and teachers from pilot schools. Teachers from other schools and kindergartens were invited to the seminar. The participants asked teachers from pilot special school to come to their schools and checked the students who have difficulties in learning. Some of the participants showed interest to join the workshops continuously. During the seminar in Bayanzurkh District, heated discussion on how MECSS takes initiatives to create better system for improving inclusive education were made between officials from MECSS and teachers.

The second half of the project will start from August 2017. The project will focus on conducting pilot activities towards structuring developmental support system for children with disabilities.
