On the 11th November 2016, the first Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) was conducted in Ulaanbaatar. Approximately once in every 6 months, Mongolian and JICA representatives will conduct JCC meeting to monitor progress and discuss on future direction of the Project. In this meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Road and Construction, Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, Ulaanbaatar City and nongovernmental organizations of/for persons with disabilities (including physical, visual, hearing and intellectual) joined from Mongolia site. From Japan side, Mr. Kumagai, Deputy Director General, Human Development Department of JICA Headquarter and Mr. Sato, Chief Representative from JICA Mongolia participated in. At first, Ms. S. Tungalgtamir, the Director of Population Development Department of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection conducted an opening remark and introduced JCC members. Then, Ms. Batdulam, the Division of Development of Persons with Disabilities shared the progress report. After that, Mr. Chiba and Ms. Isobe, JICA experts explained about the plan of activities, revised PDM (Project Design Matrix) and structure of the Working Groups. During the meeting, JCC member list, revised PDM, plan of activities and structure of the Working Groups member were all approved by the participants. Same as kick off meeting conducted in July in this year, we realized that Mongolian government officers and disabled organizations have passion to improve the situation of persons with disabilities in Ulaanbaatar city and have high expectation to the Project. We continue our effort to create foundation of collaboration between various government organizations and organizations of/for persons with disabilities.
