The Fourth Joint Coordinating Committee Meeting

The 4th Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting for "the Project for Strengthening the Government Capacity of Public Investment Plan (MDPI-TA)" was held online on December 18, 2020. As members of JCC, the officials from the Ministry of Finance and the National Development Agency and officials from the JICA headquarters and the JICA Mongolia office have participated in the session. At first, former NDA Chairman B. Bayarsaikhan who has been working as the project director since the beginning of the project, and the newly appointed Deputy Chairwoman of NDA, B. Bulganchimeg made opening remarks. The project team reported on the activities of the first phase up to June 2020 and introduced the work plan for the second phase that started in October 2020. Furthermore, the National Development Agency presented the PIP for 2021-2025 and the set of PIP guidelines formulated as part of the project activities and proposed ways to effectively implement each training due to the situation related to Covid-19. On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance shared information on the planned revision of the Budget Law related to the enactment of the Development Policy Planning and its Management Law. Also, Mongolian officials reiterated the need for the introduction of the PIP online system and exchanged opinions. Finally, the members approved the work plan for the second phase of the project and clarified the future activity policy. The next JCC will behold in April 2021.
