1st Joint Coordination Committee Meeting was held on January 7, 2021. Participants gathered online since face-to-face meeting was restricted due to COVID-19 pandemic. After opening remarks by Mr. D.Batbaatar, Vice-Minister of Ministry of Education and Science (MES), Ms. S.Tungalagtamir, Director of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and Mr. Tokuji Yoshimura, Deputy Director of JICA Mongolia Office, Project Team presented, the project summary and activities of the first period (2020.9-2022.7). The participants from MES introduced the Core Group members selection criteria for pilot kindergarten and 2 candidate schools.

The participants actively discussed about project activities, pilot kindergarten selection and Mongolian project title. All participants agreed with planned activities and pilot kindergartens. Indicators to measure the achievement of each output and project purpose, and Mongolian project title will be discussed in the next JCC meeting again.

At the end, Ms. Ch. Gantsetseg, Special Needs Education Unit of MES showed gratitude to participants for active participation in the JCC meeting. She stated that MES would make continues efforts to support children with special educational needs, to allow having a fulfilling life while attending their neighboring kindergarten and school.
