Conducted workshops to create inclusive classroom

The Project aims at making children with disabilities to participate in school-life in their local area while receiving necessary support. In regular class, there are children without disabilities, with disabilities and also those with various problems. Not a few teachers are struggling with such situation. They said, "It is difficult to teach all students the same content." and "It is hard to carry out classes where extra support is required for certain children." To support those teachers, the workshops to create inclusive classroom were conducted on May 7, 2021 for targeting monitored schools.

In workshops, basic concept of Universal Design for Learning and case studies in Japan were introduced. With little change in the way of thinking and scheme, teachers can provide lessons which all students with and without disabilities understand easily. In addition, necessary special care for individuals is reduce and it lessens the burden of teachers. Learning theory is convincing but it is important to have more good practices in Mongolia and disseminate this idea and practice nationwide. The Project will engage in creating inclusive classroom with teachers who participated in the workshops when new school term starts.
