On 5th April 2016, Japanese expert team arrived in Mozambique and the Project for Expansion of New Curriculum of Teacher Training Institute (IFP) in Mozambique was started. This project will be implemented from April 2016 to March 2020 (4 years). The aim of the Project is to develop Learning material for IFP students, related to Mathematics and Natural Sciences education, and to apply them for use in pre-service teachers education and training program in IFP.

Thanks to the support from Ministry of Education in Mozambique and JICA Mozambique Office, the Project started smoothly. On 13th April 2016, the Kickoff meeting was held for the Project. The Mozambican side (National Teacher Training Directorate and other related directorate) and Japanese side agreed about Project schedule and implementation methods.

One week after the Project started, 4 mathematics specialists and 1 natural sciences specialist were placed in the Project to elaborate the learning materials. Currently, the mathematics team is preparing pre-tasks for JICA training program "Improvement of Teaching Methodology of IFPs on In-service Teacher Education and Training in Mozambique"
