Natural Science team started textbook development
"Project for Expansion of New Curriculum of Teacher Training Institute (IFP) in Mozambique"

After 8 months from the commencement of the project, Mozambican Natural Sciences team members were appointed. The team is composed of one coordinator (part-time) and three team members (full-time), the same as Mathematics team. Three Japanese experts in Natural Science Education arrived in Mozambique in late November, and conducted a workshop to analyse the sequence among units of primary education curriculum and develop sample learning materials.

Under the instruction from the Japanese experts, the team members made a first draft of sample material (Unit: Water). When they discussed on the "Water Cycle", the Japanese experts inserted a picture of simple experiment after the explanatory description about the water cycle. At that moment, the team members fully understood what kinds of textbook should be developed in the project. Thus, the Mozambican members and Japanese experts spoke the same language about the new textbooks.

From now, the team starts to develop a textbook of "Natural Sciences". Although there will be different challenges from developing mathematics textbooks, the science team will solved with grand passion and high expertise. We all are looking forward the new textbook that will be developed!
