Project News in April 2016 (1)

Pilot Research planned

The project decided to implement 19 pilot research subjects in total through a series of meetings held by each research groups which were formulated with cross-departmental members.

  1. RA Group:Rice Varietal Selection for Climate Change with Farmer Participatory Approach
    (There are 6 research titles under 3 sub-groups)
  2. RB Group:Spatial Analysis on Distribution of Crops, Pests, Diseases and Soil Fertility and Its Application to Crop Management
    (There are 5 research titles under 3 sub-groups)
  3. RC Group:Postharvest and Supply Chain Management of Selected Major Crops
    (There are 5 research titles under 2 sub-groups)

In addition, the project also implements 3 small-scale subjects: "Optimal Feed Composition for Cattle Production in Central Dry Zone" and "Evaluation of Silage Feeds to Improve the Feed Intake of Small Ruminants" for the Department of Animal Science and "Role of Perennial Crops in Rural Household Income of Central Dry Zone of Myanmar in Climate Change Scenario" for the Department of Agricultural Economics.

Each Group commences research activities subsequently to preliminary survey in May.
