Project News in July 2016

The following field works were conducted in July in accordance with plan of Pilot Research Program in July.

Preliminary Study:

Group Date Place Activities
1 RB01 31/July-1/Aug Mandalay Interview to whole sellers about supply chain of beans
2 RB02 30/July Nay Pyi Taw Survey on sesame diseases/ collecting sample
3 CR01 16-17/July Mandalay Interview about animal husbandry and feeding

Main Research:

  1. A Member of RC-01 (Agronomy Group) stayed Pwintphyu Township, Magway Division which is the major producing area of sesame in Myanmar to measure the postharvest loss and to collect experiment sample.
  2. RA-02 (Plant Pathology Group) began to cultivate bacteria of main disease of paddy such as blast disease and leaf blight disease, and to make specimens of bacterial strain.
  3. RB-03 (Entomology and Zoology Group) began to identify seasonal pest outbreak in order to create pest alert warning model.
