Implementation of Pilot Research:

Each research group conducted field works as follows.

1) 31st July to 2nd August:
RB-01-3 group conducted interview survey regarding supply chain of green gram in Mandalay.

2) 6th to 7th August:
RA-01-1 group went to deep-water paddy area in Bago to observe situation and to collect information of rice varieties and its' seeds.

3) 21st to 22nd August:
RA-03-1 group conducted interview survey regarding local measures to cope with climate change in Thazi Township in Mandalay.

4) 24th August:
RC-01-1 group conducted survey of post-harvest loss of mango in Phyinmana Township in Nay Pyi Taw.

5) 26th to 28th August:
RB-02-1 group went to Magway to collect soil samples from sesame fields and to interview sesame-growing farmers and oil producers.

6) 27th August:
RA-02-1 group went to Leway and Phyinmana Township to observe situation of disease and pest in paddy field and to collect samples of local rice varieties.

Laboratory experiments also began to be conducted using the samples collected through previous surveys.
RA-02-1 continues to culture bacteria of rice blank and leaf blight, and making bacterial specimen.
RB02-1 group is identifying nematode in the collected soil.
RB03-1 group began to identify seasonal harmful insects for establishing insect alert model.
RC01-1 group began to process collected sesame and the counterparts of TCP who are busy in ordinary duties as academic staff and teachers, have no choice but to conduct field survey in weekend because of busyness in weekday. It is continuous issue how to secure the time for field research and experiment and to keep the balance between education and research.
