Workshop in Japan for MOEE Engineers

The workshops in Japan, "C/P Transmission and Distribution 1st Engineer Workshop in Japan No.1" and "No.2" for Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) were conducted in January and February 2017.

Main objective of the workshop in Japan are as below.

  • To acquire knowledge and technologies on substation and distribution system in Japan through site visits and lectures.
  • To consider installation facilities for new training center, by visit factories of Japanese products which we can expect high effects in enhancing the reliability of distribution lines and reducing losses, and by visit training center in Chubu Electric Power Company (CEPCO), training center in construction companies and distribution equipment sites (distribution substations and distribution lines).

The program is as below.

Period 16 January to 27 January 2017 (2 weeks) 30 January to 10 February 2017 (2 weeks)
Participants Fourteen (14) engineers from Department of Electric Power Planning (DEPP), Department of Power Transmission and System Control (DPTSC), Electricity Supply Enterprise (ESE), Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC) and Mandalay Electricity Supply corporation (MESC). Thirteen (13) engineers from DEPP, DPTSC, ESE, YESC and MESC.
Contents
  • Lecture : Outline of Electric Power Business in Japan, Outline of CEPCO, Outline of Substation and Distribution system, etc.
  • Seminar : Technology Seminar (showcasing technology of Japanese companies)
  • Factories Visit : Transformer, Swichgear, Concrete pole, Cable etc.
  • Site Visit : Training Center, Construction site, Customer center, etc.

Through the workshops, participants acquired knowledge on the substation and distribution systems in Japan and learnt facilities of training center and training system. In addition, useful information on the technologies of Japanese manufacturers was obtained by seminars and factories visits.
