CF management plans from the six Community Forestry User Groups (CFUGs) in the project area were submitted to Myaung Mya District Forest Department (FD) office on June 21st, 2012.

The submission of CF management plan is one of benchmark not only for CFUGs and FD but also for the JICA Expert Team who has supporting CF activities since the commencement of the Project.

After six villages were re-selected as project target CFUGs at the beginning of 2011, there were a lot of issues and difficulties for finalization CF management plans. Especially, it took a long time to determine boundaries of CF area, finalization of CFUG member list , preparation of maps, five year action plans, and by-laws as attachment of CF management plan.

JICA Expert Team (JET) has been providing technical support to FD and CFUG for them to share information and keep good collaborations.

We, JET hope that FD internally shares the practical procedures as lesson learnt and attempts to apply such for further CF activities.
