Donors/NGOs Mangrove Coordination Meetings

As a part of Output4 activity, District level Donors/NGOs Mangrove Coordination Meetings were conducted in Laputta and Pyar Pon townships on 27th and 31st July, 2012, respectively, The meetings were participated by FD counterparts, representatives of relevant departments (fishery, agriculture and general administration), and Donor/NGOs working with communities in the project target area.

The objectives of this meeting were i) explaining progresses of project activities to participants and ii) sharing and exchanging information related to livelihood improvement activities and capacity development activities which are not much emphasized in CF in accordance with the existing Community Forestry Instructions, with donors/ NGOs who have experiences and knowledge for implementing livelihood and capacity development activities in reserved forests area. The Project expected to gain possible solutions for issues in the Project from participants and also to seek possible collaboration among relevant donors/ NGOs.

In the meetings, participants mutually exchanged information and provided meaningful opinions based on each of participant's experience/ position. The meetings were fruitful for the Project and FD to gain many ideas for further promoting CF in the Project target area.
