Short Training for Community Forestry Development

As a part of activities of Project Output2, a short training on Basic Skills for Community Forestry Development was conducted from 23rd to 29th October, 2013 at the Htung Gyi Tan Community Forestry Extension Center and Nursery located in Pyar Pon Township. Training was facilitated by Mr. Ronnakorn, Senior Program Officer of RECOFTC (the Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and Pacific). The training course was aimed for building basic skills required for community forestry development process among field level FD officers among the project's targeted townships, and in total 23 trainees participated.

The training in forms of workshops, focused on facilitation skills, participatory approach, livelihoods and community, and multi-perspective community forestry development process. One day field exercise was conducted at project target villages as a part of training and the exercise encouraged participants to understand more the local livelihood systems.

At the end of the training participants developed their personal commitments and shared how they like to apply lessons and learned from the course in their working or personal conditions.
