Workshop for Preparation of CF Progress Report

Workshop for preparing CF Annual Progress Report (APR) was conducted in Laputta Township from 30 January to 2 February for three project target villages (KKKL, TYK and NTP, and in Pyar Pon and Bogalay Townships from 12 to 17 February for three project target villages (SPT, TGT, and GAD).

Each CFUG is required to prepare and submit APR including summaries of their CF-related activities and issues/challenges at the end of each fiscal year. Therefore, mainly targeting the Management Committee (MC) members of CFUG, the workshop aimed to introduce contents of ARP and to provide trainings of monitoring techniques required in preparing the APR.

Among the information to be compiled in APR, the monitoring record of CF plantation and natural forest operations is one of the key components of the report. Thus, emphasis was given to field exercise for monitoring techniques.

It was first time for most of the participants (MC members and FD staffs) to learn and practice the monitoring by setting up circle plots, identify the target trees, measure their height and record the results on the data sheet. Participants showed a lot of interests and eagerness to use learned monitoring techniques.

In the line with the workshop, a questionnaire survey to evaluate the degree of understanding and satisfactions toward CF by all project targeted CFUG members were conducted. The results of the survey from 6 CFUGs (298Member Households) revealed that 99.7 % (297 households) of CFUG members considered that CF is useful.
