Final Mangrove Seminar in Naw Pyi Taw

On 7 February 2013, the final mangrove seminar was held in Naw Pyi Taw. In the opening ceremony, more than 150 people including two deputy ministers (U Aye Myint Maung and Dr.Thet Thet Zin), director generals from respective departments in Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry, and representatives from JICA Myanmar Office participated.

After the opening ceremony, JICA expert team and FD counterpart officers made presentations of each project output to share valuable information of results, issues and problems, lessons learnt through implementation of the project. About 80 people participated in the seminar and had a vigorous discussion based on these presentations.

In a group discussion session, the participants exchanged opinions regarding "Linkage between CF and Livelihood Improvement", "Mangrove and Coastal Management" and "Land Use Policy and Plan for Reserved Forests in Delta Area"

Through the final mangrove seminar, the project enabled to share results and information of the project to concerned personnel, and in addition to that, necessary technologies, issues, and lessons learnt for sustainable mangrove management were discussed and share among participants.
