27 project members including students were dispatched to Kathmandu from August 18 to 30. They carried out, with Nepalese counterparts, various activities of their respective working group. Together with the project team, JST's J-RAPID members also visited Kathmandu to conduct their research in conjunction with our project.
Main activities implemented:
WG1: Research meeting of WG1, and field survey of Bagmati river basin
WG2: Groundwater and surface water sampling in KTM including the quake affected areas
WG3: Water sampling and microbial analysis
WG4: Installation of a slant water treatment reactor and water analysis training
WG5: Interview with residents in the quake affected areas and the questionnaire target areas
J-RAPID: Emergency survey of the great earthquake impacting on water security in Kathmandu
