Water treatment system development (Working Group 4)

The Members of the WG4 have been successively visiting Kathmandu (9-13 Jul, 3-8 Aug and 30 Aug - 5 Sep) and active at the followings.

1. Maintenance of the systems at Jwagal (Artificial wet land system for Nitrogen and Phosphorus removal, Nitrogen removal systems by dropping nitrification and hydrogenotrophic denitrification, Slant sponge water treatment reactor and Aerator)

2. Treated water analysis at IOE Lab. to evaluate performance of the systems operated at Jwagal.

3. Test run and preliminary performance assessment of a sand filtration system for potable water at Thapathali area.

4. Site visit (Chyasal area) for upcoming LCD (Locally-fitted Compact and Distributed water treatment system) installation.

5. Information exchange with private water treatment firm.
