At the middle stage of the 5 years project, the Mid-term review has been jointly conducted by Japanese and Nepalese sides. The review result including recommendations to the project was presented in the 4th Joint coordinating committee held on 30 Nov. and the Minutes of Meeting was signed by the both sides. Summary of the review is as follows.

3. Nepalese review members:
Mr. Kedar M Prajapati (Review Leader. Dept. of Water Supply and Sewerage, Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation) Dr. Jagat K Shrestha (Asst. Dean, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University)
4. Purposes of the review:1)To review and evaluate the project performance, 2) to analyze promote and inhibit factors and 3) to make recommendations to the project
5. Review Result:The Project activities are 6 months behind schedule due to the earthquake and blockage of the distribution network at the border area with India. However, relevant data have been acquired and analyzed by each WG to generate tangible results under the challenging condition. In the latter half of the project, all findings obtained through the research activities will be integrated and upgraded to achieve the Project Purpose.
6. Recommendations to the project:
   • 6 months extension of the Project period
   • Improvement of usefulness and sustainability of water security map
   • Clarification of the process toward the completion of development of LCD water treatment system
   • Clarification of the process to elaborate the strategy document on introduction and installation of the LCD water treatment systems
   • Sharing of common understanding among the Project members and WGs
   • Sustainable operation and maintenance of the equipment provided
   • Addition of indicators and modification of PDM and PO
