Sampling and processing from wastewater treatment plant
Ms. Sarmila Tandukar (Working Group 3, Uni. of Yamanashi) stayed in Kathmandu from 23 June to 3 July to conduct a survey on two wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) of Kathmandu Valley i.e. Balkumari and Guheshwori. Collecting samples from WWTPs, she did analysis for bacteria, protozoa, and viruses to reveal wastewater contamination level with them.
Besides that, she, with help of Dr. T. Kamei (WG4), checked fecal indicator bacteria and protozoa in raw water and treated water of two LCDs i.e. (Chapacho and Chayasal).
