TCP3 Stakeholder Workshop and Rice Science and Technology Updates for Extension Workers

(PhilRice Agusan, November 12 – 17, 2007)
First season Implementation of TCP3 site 2 in Tagabaca, Butuan City formally kicked-off through the conduct of stakeholder workshop held last November 12, 2007 at the newly constructed JICA training building at PhilRice RTR, Agusan del Norte. The objectives of the said event was to identify the role and functions of concerned agencies e.g. LGU Butuan City, National Irrigation Administration, Agricultural Training Institute, Office of the Provincial Agriculture, Regional Field Unit-CARAGA, the Farmers’ Association and PhilRice in the project to be implemented. Highlight of the activity was to identify problems limiting rice production in the project site and formulate possible interventions to achieve the project goal, purpose and outputs. Extension Workers who will be involved in the implementation of TCP3 activities were updated in rice Science and Technology and to prepare them in facilitating farmers’ training in the TDF site.
