4-4. Puppet Shows

PhotoThe NCDA Puppet show team casts in one of their live performance. These puppets represented persons with various disabilities such as physical, hearing, and visual impairments/disabilities.

The Puppet Shows for the promotion of the NHE Project and the rights of persons with disabilities were held from August 11 to 13, 2010 in New Lucena and Iloilo City and from August 16 to 18, 2010 in Opol, Misamis Oriental and Cagayan De Oro City.

Eight (8) officers of NCDA teamed up to play roles and total ten (10) puppet shows were mounted on various dates and venues involving the attendance of school children and their teachers including some parents from 47 schools and four (4) local government units, namely Iloilo City and New Lucena, Iloilo Province, and in Cagayan de Oro City and Opol, Misamis Oriental province.

Each show has an average of 200 to 300 attendees mostly students from the different educational institutions/schools whose ages range from 5 to 18 years old. The presence of the school principals, teachers, school personnel, parents, barangays officials, NHE Project Management Team (PMT) members, employees of the two (2) local government units (New Lucena and Opol), and representatives of non-government organizations, other government sectors and private sectors were also observed.

PhotoStudents and out-of-school youth attended the puppet show in the DLRC, Opol, Misamis Oriental.
