EQUITV Awareness Committee

The project report in October is about EQUITV Awareness Committee and activities.

The committee is comprised of members from National Education Media Centre and other institutions relevant to education such as PNGEI (PNG Education Institute). The purpose of the committee is the nationwide dissemination of EQUITV program. EQUITV program started their TV broadcast in 2002 although it hasn't reached throughout the country.

In order to raise the interest in and awareness about EQUITV program among teachers, students and parents in communities, committee members developed various tools such as EQUITV song, poster, brochure and picture-story. The EQUITV song was already recorded in a studio and finalized. Other tools will be printed and distributed to relevant offices and schools in the provinces. The committee has a future plan of conducting the nationwide competition in a song, dance and drama for EQUITV.

The committee also developed the awareness tools for people in the administrational level such as the provincial government, provincial education office and parliament members. Through having them involved in, EQUITV program will be more effectively and rapidly disseminated in the provinces. Their support is essential in reaching nationwide dissemination.
