The Ghana Study Tour

Supportive supervision is one of the priorities of the JICA Health Project.  A similar project for scaling up the implementation of Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) in the Upper West region of Ghana had also been operated by JICA from March 2006 to February 2010. The project therefore conducted the study tour so that the participants could learn good practices especially about supportive supervision. The study tour also gave chance to the members to acquire knowledge in the areas of Health Management Information System (HMIS) as well as community approach. The participants would then try to see how these practices could be reflected in their work in Kambia. The Director of Primary Health Care and the Principal Health Economist both from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, the District Medical Officer and seven Zonal Supervisors from DHMT including two Community Health Officers were invited.
