The Ag Chief Medical Officer chaired the meeting and assured attendees that best practice from the JICA Project will be disseminated nationally. He emphasized MOHS commitment to support the Project for Strengthening District Health Management in Kambia. The District Medical Officer in Kambia gave an overview of the progress of the project and according to the PDM. The Project Experts reported on progress since May 2008. The Ag Chief Medical Officer emphasized sustainability as a key issue for the Government and NGOs and their readiness to face up to the challenges of sustainability of the project. The JICA Resident Representative Ghana said that JICA would support commitment to sustainability of the project. He hoped the project would continue in collaboration with MOHS, Kambia District Council, DHMT and stakeholders.
