Rehabilitation Activity of Mange Bissan PHU

PhotoMange Bissan PHU and the attendants

There was no health clinic or health staff in the Mange Bissan area. One nurse was transferred in at the request of the community in August 2007. The community provided a house as a health centre, at the same time as starting the construction of a building, which was not completed due to lack of money. After several meetings with the community, DHMT/JICA supported completion of the construction, including a well and an incinerator, with community participation. Construction was completed in March 2009 and the inaugural ceremony was held. Over 200 people, including the Chairman of the District Council Health Committee, and Section/Town/Village Chiefs from all over the chiefdom, attended. They were proud of the centre, rehabilitated with community participation. They promised to use it and to take good care of it.
