Survey on Community Needs by JICA Expert

PhotoFocus Group Discussion

In order to provide a good, equitable health service, it is necessary to understand the health needs of the community, which are reflected in the Comprehensive District Health Plan (CDHP) . The health needs of the community are also evidenced by community participation in the health activities. As a part of the capacity development of DHMT, a short-term expert was dispatched to analyze the situation and then map out community participation. Through focus groups, it became clear that the most of the PHU Health Committees organized by community representatives were not functioning well. An effective supportive supervision by the DHMT was recommended to strengthen the linkage between the PHUs and the PHU Health Committees.
