Project Name

Project for Training of Frontline Officers in Community Development In Conflict Affected Areas in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka

Project Purpose

This project is designed to Support the training of frontline officers in community development and provide Institutional capacity building of Training Institutes The project includes mobilization of services of Japanese and Sri Lankan experts for technical input, quality assurance and monitoring, training material, & logistics

Target areas:

Northern Province, Eastern Province and North Central Province

Objectives:

(1) Capacity building of the Provincial training institutes of Northern, Eastern and North Central Provinces
(2) Training of frontline officers in the above 3 Provinces to support community development activities

Outputs

(1) Improved capacity of training institutes – PSTI, MDTI-N, MDTD-E & MDTU-NC
(2) Expanded trainer pool, improved training modules & training material
(3) Improved cooperation & networking among PSTI, MDTI-N, MDTD-E & MDTU-NC
(4) 10 Modules of training delivered to frontline officers of Northern, North Central & Eastern Provinces

Implementation Structure:

The project is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Public Administration.
Training delivery
Management Development Training Department (MDTI-N) of Northern Provincial Council
Management Development Training Department (MDTD-E) of Eastern Provincial Council
Management Development Training Department (MDTU-NC) of North Central Provincial Council

Duration of the Project:

March 2011 – March 2016 (5Years)
