Capacity building of KVTC

The vocational training cluster in the "Capacity Development Project for the provision of Services for Basic Human Needs in Kassala State (K-TOP)&dquo; aims to enhance the management capacity of Kassala Vocational Training Center (KVTC).  Not an effective vocational training has been conducted for the past 20 years due to inadequate facilities and equipment.  Since KVTC has not produced quality graduates, its name is not well recognized in Kassala.  Immediate measures are required to improve the image of and raise expectation on KVTC among Kassala citizens.

In early 2011, the practice facilities were expanded and the equipment was provided by K-TOP and UNDP. The relocation of equipment and furniture by K-TOP has supported the KVTC activities to be ready to start. In the coming days, Training of Trainers (TOT) will be focused on. In addition, the practice facility for food-processing is to be built by K-TOP to support women activities.
