ICT seminar at SIBI by lecturers from Kobe Institute of Computing

From 26th to 30th September, 2022, the Business Incubation Project (BIP) convened a 5-day seminar on ICT business co-hosted by the State Institution Business Incubator (SIBI).

Two external speakers were invited from Kobe Institute of Computing which has a mission to develop professionals tackling social issues with ICT solutions. Twelve (12) people from various sectors including IT companies, governmental organizations and start-up companies participated in the Seminar.

The Seminar was organized to respond to a growing attention in ICT business models in Tajikistan triggered by the outbreak of Covid-19. Moreover, social business has been attracting greater interests from the young generation which is exposed to the global trend towards achieving SDGs. However, learning opportunities that address those needs are limited in Tajikistan.

Lecturers introduced to the participants KIC's unique problem-solving method named "Tankyu Practice", which is a framework for conceptualizing innovative ideas into business models. The participants learned how to put their ideas into this framework through the case studies of ICT businesses that bring significant positive impacts to education, healthcare and urban development in Asia and Africa. On the last day of the Seminar, utilizing "Tankyu Practice", each participant presented their original business idea that can eradicate social issues. Participants provided positive feedback on the Seminar, such as "I learned how ICT can make a significant change to social issues" and "I will utilize ICT in my organization's educational project to achieve better outcomes".
