Outline of the Project

Business Incubation Project

192 million Japanese Yen (1.83 million. USD as of March 2020)

4) Project Duration:

March 17, 2020 - June 16, 2022

5) Target Area:

Dushanbe, Kulyab, Rasht, Vakhdat, Kanibadam, Asht, Vose, Khurosn, Khamadoni

6) Counterpart Agency:

  • State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan
  • The State Institution "Business Incubator"

7) Project Objective:

Dushanbe Business Incubator (DBI) becomes operational with its functions and operating methodologies established.

8) Project Scope / Activities:

  • Identifying the needs of the training and developing the material
  • Providing training on Basic of Business for target groups
  • Identifying and developing the human resources who provide the support to entrepreneurs, micro and small businesses
  • Assisting entrepreneurs to develop the business plans.
  • Assisting to link entrepreneurs, micro and small businesses with financial institutions.
  • Providing the consultation and mentoring to micro and small businesses.
  • Identifying the administrative barriers for micro and small businesses and make improvement.
  • Establishing the linkages between SIBI and governmental institutions/developing partners.

9) Expected Results:

  • The modality for the delivery of "Basics of Business" training (BoB) is established.
  • The modality for supporting MSE in preparing business plans is established.
  • The modality for supporting MSE's access to finance is established.
  • The modality for conducting mentoring of MSE is established.
  • The modality for collaboration between business incubation and one-stop window is established.
  • The methodologies for supporting government agencies in streamlining their administrative procedures related to business operations are established.
  • Networks linking the State Institution "Business Incubator" and similar initiatives in and out of the country are established.

10) Beneficiaries:

  • Potential entrepreneurs, such as youths, returned migrants and micro and small businesses.

To expand productive employment

12) Contribution to SDGs:

  • To assist the most vulnerable people (SDG-1)
  • To ensure economic growth and decent work (SDG-8)
