The second year of the Project (10 months from August 2012 to May 2013) has commenced. During this year, the project will help in the the review of the official document specifying the roles and functions of the Regional Health Management Teams (RHMTs). To that end, the project will work with other stakeholders to revise the 2008 document to reflect the current and expected functions of the regional tams. Furthermore, we will conduct several field tests to improve the Regional Management Supportive Supervision tools which were developed in the first year and promote its use in the regions later in the year. The training programs to the Regional Health Management Teams shall also be conducted in order for these Teams to understand the standardized tools and documents adequately, and to perform their central duties of monitoring and supervision of Council Health Management Teams and Regional Referral Hospital Management Teams. In addition, we will conduct training programs to strengthen the capacity of the RHMT on such topics as RHMT's planning and reporting as well as Comprehensive Council Health Plan.

In short, we identify the second year as a crucial period where the project will guide the RHMTs based on their current levels, capacitate them further and promote their action. In the third year, the project shall support our counterparts so that the implementation framework introduced in the second year will be thoroughly established on the ground and will strengthen the functions of CHMT and RHMT. That framework shall ultimately contribute to attaining quality health services, which is our final goal.
