On 20 October 2016, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (MITI) organized the Second KAIZEN Award Ceremony at Lamada Hotel in Dar es Salaam. H.E. Minister Mwijage of MITI, Dr, Meru, Permanent Secretary of MITI, H. E. Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Yoshida, and Mr. Nagase, Chief Representative of JICA Tanzania, illuminated the seminar as Guests of Honor.

In the ceremony, the latest achievements of the KAIZEN project were presented, including the successful training of 13 KAIZEN Master Trainers, 6 KAIZEN Trainers, official launch of "KAIZEN STRATEGY AND POLICY ACTIONS FOR PROMOTING KAIZEN METHODOLOGY IN TANZANIA: 2016-2025" and the guidance to 52 pilot enterprises on KAIZEN implementation. Then, three KAIZEN Master Trainers, who provided superior guidance for enterprises, as well as ten enterprises, which achieved highest on KAIZEN implementation, were awarded. Among these enterprises, seven were awarded for the enterprises in Dar es Salaam, two for Morogoro and one for Dodoma, respectively.

Large applause from 120 participants exploded especially when the Minister referred to `the proactive promotion of KAIZEN for quality and productivity improvement of Tanzania,` and it was broadcasted nationwide through leading media agencies in Tanzania.

To promote awareness of KAIZEN further, not only representatives of relevant organizations, those from pilot enterprises, and KAIZEN Master Trainers but other enterprises and private associations were invited to the event. This time, Muhimbili Hospital and Tanzania Cigarette Company, a member of group enterprises affiliated with Japan Tobacco International also shared their experiences about KAIZEN implementation, and thus, networking for KAIZEN Movement was initiated at the ceremony.
