Vol.18: DTF Workshop for target LGAs

PhotoGroup discussion among DTF

Since the outset of the project, a number of task force members at district level (DTF) have made tremendous efforts to establish the supporting mechanism within the LGA to support the community.

The project team found it good time for all to get together again and came to invite DTF members from 7 target LGAs to conduct a 6-day workshop in Morogoro from 6th through 11th November to consolidate the progress and challenge of current target LGAs.

During the workshop, 21 DTF members from Bagamoyo, Kisarawe, Chalinze, Morogoro, Ulanga, Kiloombero and Kondoa DC shared the current situation of the LGA-Community collaboration, highlighting the benefits of Improved O&OD.

Roles of DTF and selection criteria for DTF were also reconfirmed by the participants. The additional finalization came up with the decision of increasing the number DTF members up to 7 (seven) including non Head of departments.

At the end of the workshop, DTF members came to discuss the way LGAs effectively utilize experienced senior facilitators (SFs) to train fellow ward facilitators in respective LGA.

It is expected now that participants are convinced again to raise the momentum of supporting community initiatives through good linkage with ward level facilitators in more sustainable and feasible manner.

The project team continues to analyze the comments, ideas and challenge discussed at this workshop to reflect into the contents of training for new DTF members in the future and their guideline.
