On March 6th, 2012, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce (JCC) organized a seminar to introduce PRTR to representatives from its members in Thailand at Landmark Hotel, Bangkok. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Toshikazu Adachi, Chairman of Chemical Division of JCC, with Mr. Fumio Sonobe, Chairman of Environment Committee of JCC delivering the opening speech. The seminar objective is to provide better preparation for PRTR for JCC member firms, and to give constructive feedback to the JICA project for the design of the PRTR system in Thailand. Over 170 members of JCC attended the seminar, demonstrating serious consideration on PRTR by JCC and its member firms.

JICA expert Mr. Munehiro Fukuda was invited to deliver a presentation on 1) PRTR system and JICA project and 2) proposed list of target substances for PRTR, followed by an active question and answer session. JCC and JICA project agreed to continue collaboration on the introduction of PRTR in Thailand.
