Visiting Napparatrachathani Hospital

On July 3rd, 2012, the JICA Expert, together with an officer of the Pollution Control Department (PCD), Mr. Aram Bhandhuwanna, made a visit to Napparatrachathani Hospital for a chemical substance data survey. An informal meeting on the topic was held, attended by related staff from Napparatrachathani Hospital.

Providing background knowledge, the JICA Expert and Mr. Aram gave an overview of the JICA-PRTR Project, a definition of emission source under the Thai PRTR system, and the target chemical substances list, pointing out medical-related substances. In order to make the release estimation for hospitals, the data on chemical usage and amounts of use are required. The hospital staff actively discussed the availability of data and presented their current project on a chemical inventory in the hospital. Although located outside Rayong province – the pilot area, Napparatrachathani Hospital will also join the PRTR pilot implementation in 2013 as a study model for hospital release estimation.

PhotoMs. Jitsuda Buakhao, Deputy Director, together with staff from Napparatrachathani Hospital, actively participated in informal talks with the JICA Expert on non-point source data for hospital release estimation, held on July 3rd, 2013, at Pethai meeting room, Napparatrachathani Hospital.
