The second PRTR seminar was organized by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok (JCC) on December 6, 2012, at Landmark Hotel, Bangkok. Mr. Toshikazu Adachi, Chairman of the Chemical Division of JCC, and Mr. Fumio Sonobe, Chairman of the Environment Committee of JCC chaired the seminar.

The seminar objective was to explain the progress of the JICA-PRTR project the since last seminar in March 2012 and to exchange views and opinions on technical matters such as target substance list, point source definition and pilot implementation of PRTR. JICA Expert Mr. Munehiro FUKUDA was invited to deliver the technical presentation. Over 130 participants, mainly from the industry sector showed keen interest in the PRTR pilot implementation. An active Q&A session was conducted during the seminar. The feedback received in the Q&A session is valuable input to the project and will be used to validate many of the technical matters in PRTR system design.

JCC is considering holding the next seminar in the middle of 2013.

In supporting the development of PRTR system in Thailand, representatives from Japanese companies actively participated in the 2nd PRTR Seminar organized by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, on December 6, 2012, at Landmark Hotel, Bangkok.
