Awareness-Raising and Estimation Workshop for Industrial Sector

Another awareness-raising and estimation workshop for the industrial sector was held on September 17th, 2013 at Star Hotel in Rayong, in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Work (DIW), the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), and the Pollution Control Department (PCD). This workshop was aimed at the Automotive and Chemical/Petrochemical Industries, with more than 120 participants from both the industrial and governmental sectors.

A lecture was given to the participants by representatives from three organizations, PCD, DIW and IEAT. An overview of the PRTR project was presented to the participants by Mr. Aram Bhandhuwanna, from PCD, followed by another on the estimation manual and reporting format by Dr. Sirakarn Leungsakul, from DIW. Dr. Sirakarn also requested the participants for cooperation in reporting PRTR data. The afternoon session was an estimation method in detail given by Dr. Jariya Sukhapan, from IEAT and the last session was a case study given by Mr. Ittipol Paw-amart from PCD. The workshop was opened for questions, and many questions and concerns were raised by the participants.

In order to complete the emission estimation workshop, a further awareness-raising and estimation workshop for other point sources, such as hospitals and colleges, will be held in November, 2013.
