The 3rd PRTR seminar by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok (JCC) was held at the Landmark Hotel, Bangkok on October 4, 2013, demonstrating the Chamber's continued support and interest in the PRTR project. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Hideki Shioi, Chairman of Chemical Division of JCC, and Mr. Hirohito Takabe, Chairman of Environment Committee of JCC.

The seminar objective was to inform the progress of the JICA project since the last seminar in December 2012 and to exchange views and opinions on technical matters such as estimation techniques and the pilot implementation of PRTR. JICA Expert Mr. Munehiro FUKUDA was invited to deliver the technical presentation. Estimation manuals for PRTR were given to each participant. Over 100 participants, mainly from the industry side, showed keen interest in the PRTR pilot implementation. An active Q&A session took place during the seminar, providing valuable feedback and input to the project that will be used to validate many of the technical matters in the PRTR system design. Mr. Ryosuke Chono, Vice Chairman of Environment Committee of JCC, delivered the closing remark, emphasizing the importance of establishing the PRTR system in Thailand.
