PRTR Non-Point Source Seminar for Hospitals, Universities, Research Institutes and Households

The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and Mahidol University jointly organized a seminar on PRTR non-point sources at Rayong City Hotel on November 14, 2013. The seminar was opened by Mr. Pratheep Aengchuan, Director of Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate Office. The objective of this seminar was to present the results of a PRTR non-point source study for hospitals, universities, research institutes, and households, which was carried out by the researcher team of Mahidol University under contract from IEAT.

Chemical substances used in households, hospitals, and universities were explained, and emission estimation methods were presented for such chemicals. Some of the chemicals discussed in the seminar were formaldehyde, ethylene oxide, isopropyl alcohol, and ethyl acetate.

A total of 111 participants from relevant organizations such as hospitals, universities, and research institutes actively participated in the seminar. The seminar was part of PRTR awareness raising and training activities for hospitals, universities, research institutes, and the public in Rayong province.
