The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) organized a one-day knowledge management (KM) workshop on PRTR at its headquarters in Bangkok on February 21, 2014. The workshop was chaired by the head of IEAT's Environmental Department, Ms. Cattleya SILARATANA, with active participation by approximately 25 relevant staff from many industrial estate offices as well as those from the headquarters.

In the workshop, JICA expert Mr. Munehiro Fukuda gave a lecture on PRTR experience in Japan, focusing on data management and risk communication. Also, JICA expert Mr. Makoto Takahashi explained the detail of data validation procedures. The project counterpart, Dr. Jariya Sukhapan, reported the recent outcome of consultation visits to a number of factories in Rayong province for emission estimation support.

As PRTR data report is about to be submitted by the factories in Rayong, the workshop was useful preparation for many IEAT staff.
