On March 7, 2014, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) organized a meeting at its Map Ta Put Industrial Estate Office for those factories inside the Map Ta Put Complex that are required to report PRTR data during the PRTR pilot implementation period. Chaired by Mr. Prateep Ang-chon, Director of Map Ta Put Industrial Estate, the meeting was to explain the method of how to report PRTR data via the Map Ta Put Environmental Monitoring and Control Center (EMCC) database for all factories inside the industrial estates in the Map Ta Phut Complex. The factories were encouraged to report PRTR data, so that the result would enhance PRTR system performance through effective data management.

During the meeting, the key project counterpart at IEAT, Dr. Jariya Sukhpan, presented the progress of the PRTR pilot project in Rayong province, implementation of the next plan of gathering PRTR data from all sources, and implementation of a risk communication plan in Rayong province scheduled for the end of this year. Also, Ms. Itsariya Sangjareon from Map Ta Put Industrial Estate Office presented the method of how to report PRTR via EMCC website, followed by a Q&A session led by the JICA expert team, about the PRTR emission estimation methods.

In the next step, IEAT will organize another meeting on how to report PRTR data for factories inside the industrial estates in the northern part of Rayong province, which is the center of the automotive industry, on March 27, 2014.
