The 4th PRTR Seminar

The 4th PRTR seminar was organized by the Pollution Control Department (PCD), in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), on June 11, 2015, at Maruay Garden Hotel in Bangkok. Ms. Sunee Piyapanpong, Deputy Director-General of PCD, together with Mr. Mongkol Pruekwatana, Deputy Director-General of DIW, and Ms. Somchint Pilouk, Deputy Governor of IEAT, jointly delivered the opening speech. There were 120 participants at this event from various government agencies, the private sector, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the JICA expert team, and mass-media.

Toward the end of the seminar, an active discussion session facilitated by Dr. Decha Pimpisut (DIW), Ms. Teeraporn Wiriwutikorn (PCD), Dr. Jariya Sukhapan (IEAT) and Mr. Munehiro Fukuda (JICA Expert), was observed. The feedback received in this session is valuable input to the project. All suggestions will be taken into consideration in improving the PRTR system.
