Care Plans for the 148 Thai elderly have been developed

PhotoMr. Hasegawa interviews elderly to develop her Care Plan.

From 20th June till 21st July for approximately 1 month, Mr. Yoshikazu Hasegawa, the President from the Care Management Support Center in Japan has been in Thailand as a JICA's short-term expert to develop Care Plans for Thai elderly people in 6 Project sites.

Mr. Hasegawa, together with Project members, local nurses and volunteers etc have visited elderly houses in Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, Korat, Surat Thani, Nonthaburi and Bangkok and interviewed them about health condition as well as life circumstances. Based on the data gathered, Mr. Hasegawa developed his/her Care plan immediately and put its data into his PC. It took 15min-30min for each plan. In total, 148 Care Plans from 6 Project sites were developed.

As Care Plan shows frequency and contents of the Care services for each elderly based on their individual needs, the Project has now better understanding on how many elderly will receive which services on which day in each site. Based on 148 Care Plans developed, the Project will further discuss about the contents of the model services to determine.

Mr. Hasegawa will visit to Thailand again in late August to check preparation status towards launching the model services from October.
