The First LTOP Counterpart Training (Policy) was Conducted

LTOP Counterpart Training on "The Elderly Social Welfare Administration" was conducted from 20th July till 3rd August, 2013.

12 Thai trainees from Central Government (Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Municipalities of Project pilot sites have visited Japan. Trainees have visited Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan, organizations on elderly care in Tokyo area to learn about policy and actual elderly care in the context of Japan. From 27th July till 30th July, they have moved from Tokyo to Wakayama prefecture visiting prefectural office, organizations for the elderly and Mt. Kouyasan to learn about elderly care situation in Wakayama prefecture.

Thai trainees actively participated in all sessions and asked numerous questions to Japanese lecturers. They have also enjoyed experiencing Japanese food and culture.

This was the first LTOP Counterpart training, focused on policy aspects. Next LTOP Counterpart training is planned in September 2013, focuses on "Care Management" Skill.
