The 1st Meeting of Developing a Curriculum for Care Manager was Held

PhotoMOPH staffs and Thai researchers (approx. 30 people in total) have joined the Meeting

On the 17th February 2014, the Bureau of Health Promotion of MOPH and ex-trainees of JICA Counterpart Training (Care Management) have organized the 1st Meeting of Developing a Curriculum for Care Manager. The event was initiated by Thai side and Mr. Enomoto, Chief Advisor was invited as a lecturer.

At first, Mr. Enomoto, lectured about Care Management system in Japan. Then the ex-trainees, namely, Ms. Patchara, Ms. Vimol and Ms. Pha Nga Ngam have explained about the role and Curriculum of Care Managers in Japan. In the afternoon, Dr. Ekkachai, the Chief of the Elderly Health Group under the Bureau has shared the Care Management system in the USA.

Lastly, participants have compared the policy, services, roles, human resource development on Care Managers in Japan and USA to highlight the characteristics of Care Management/Care Managers in the context of Thailand. They have brainstormed and clarified the main purpose and possible key roles of Care Managers in Thailand. The 2nd Meeting is planned to be held in the middle of March.
