4th Monitoring Survey

During November 2016, the project's 4th monitoring survey was conducted at 6 project sites, namely Chiangrai, Khonkaen, Nakornratchasrima, Nonthaburi, Bangkok, and Suratthani. This is the last monitoring survey to be held during the project period, which ends in August 2017.

According to the plan of operation, the monitoring survey is one of the main activities which is essential for developing and concluding the suitable model services for elderly long term care in Thailand concerning various sites' cultures and contexts. The main purpose of this activity is to monitor and evaluate the effects of the "Model Services" in order to collect necessary information to be as the evidence-based content.

In this survey, as planned, the questionnaires and interviews were used as the main tools for data collection. The target groups were the participating elderly, elderly's main care givers, care managers and care workers. The questionnaires were used in individual interview to the elderly and their main care givers, by trained surveyors while care managers and care workers were asked to conduct self-questionnaires. In the meantime, if there were any interesting or concerned found during the interview, the notes or comments would be written down by surveyors. In total, the project managed to collect the data from 170 families, 30 care managers, and 100 care workers, approximately.

After the data collection, all questionnaires will be then input and analyzed. The result will be reflected to the sites for their revision of model services and will be as the evidence-based summary for the project in concluding the outcome.
